Christmas Cookies

Last night Tyler and I got home from our last minute Christmas shopping around 8 pm. We put Connor to bed and a few minutes later there was a knock at our door. I was in my bedroom feeding Kamree, so Tyler went to the door and found a little girl that was about seven years old standing there. From where I was in the house I could only hear that this little girl was selling cookies for $3. Tyler came back and said she was really cute and didn't want to send her away even though we didn't have any cash. I told him the checkbook was in my purse and to just see if she could take a check. (I assumed she was a girl scout)Tyler wrote her a check and came back to show me a plate with about 6 decorated sugar cookies and a few m&m's. He told me the story and I just wanted to cry. I guess when he wrote her the check this little girl proceeded to tell him that she was raising money for her family for Christmas and that she was having a race with her sister; but she had to hurry since she had to go to bed at 9:00.
Tyler and I had just gotten home from spending a fair amount of money on our kids for Christmas and here was a little girl out trying to earn her Christmas. I'm glad we could help them a little and I wish we could have helped more.
This little experience made us very grateful for the things that we have and more aware of those that are not as fortunate. I have been reminded of what is really important in life, I definitely need those reminders every once in a while.
We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas with your family as we celebrate the birth of our savior.

Love,
The Rasor Family

Wow, what an amazing story to share. Thank you. I'm sure that the Lord sent her to your door as a tender mercy to her. We are truly blessed to feel the love of the Savior through the world around us. Small miracles each and every day build my testimony.

Thanks for sharing...it gave me the chills and brought tears to my eyes. I sometimes get so wrapped up in "me" that I forget about all of those that go without. It is good to be reminded about all that we have to be grateful for!
