What a weekend...

Growing up, whenever my dad would go out of town my mom always said that's when the bad things happened... (something breaking down, someone getting hurt etc..) I guess Connor has been trying to help us carry on that little tradition...here's the story.
Our weekend started Friday with one of my very best cousins getting married. Tyler and I were invited to the temple but since Tyler had to fly out to Colorado yesterday I took myself and Grandma Sharp. My cousin, Aubrey watched Connor during the ceremony. The ceremony was wonderful and it seemed everything went over smoothly through the whole day. Trying to keep my almost one year old busy the entire day was a challenge. After the wedding breakfast we went back to my aunt and uncles so I wouldn't have to go all the way home and so I could also help Grandma Sharp get to the reception early enough for the pictures. Little Connor was not being himself the whole time we were there. He was just very very whiney and I just brushed it off as being tired...well he got worse and worse through the night. I saw my sisters for about 5 minutes at the reception and then I HAD to leave. I was exhausted and I had assumed that's what was wrong with Connor also. I came home and I put Connor to bed....

well this morning at 7:30 I hear the most high pitched awful scream I have ever heard come from him! I ran to his room, tried to cuddle him but he wouldn't have that. I open his diaper and his stool is filled with blood(to the point it had turned orange and red) and his little bum had a good amount on it also. I get dressed and run him to Instacare, we get right in and we find out that Connor most likely is allergic to milk.(we just started weaning him to milk 10 days ago) So today i've been told to put him back on formula, and watch for gushing blood and high fevers (in which case we run to the ER...lovely huh? the doctor didn't expect it to be severe enough that it happens but we're just watching.) We will probably have to try milk again in 4 weeks and if he has another reaction we have to find a substitute...i'm assuming soymilk. Hopefully he starts to feel better. He is sleeping now so i'm guessing he's not too uncomfortable. He has had such a hard little life with reflux, rsv, croup, eczema, eye infections and now this...the only thing left I'm watching for is a nut allergy, so we'll stay away from peanut butter for a long time!

Man, that poor kid! Glad to hear he's re-couping... you know it would make sense that he would be sensitive, even have an allergy to milk, since his dad is! Take care ash!
