Update on Connor!

I was so confused about this whole "allergy" thing so I made an appointment with Connor's pediatrician today. I just couldn't comprehend how someone who's been on MILK BASED formula for almsot a year could suddenly be allergic to cow's milk. The doctor completely agreed. She examined Connor's bum a little more closely and saw that there may have been a cut from him pushing hard. It was kind of on the inside but she coudln't say 100 percent if that's what it was. He's also had a really bad breakout of excema. She is hoping that it was just a really bad coincidence that the excema started up the same time as we started milk since the weather is getting colder. So the plan for now is to keep him on the milk based formula (the same stuff he's been on forever) while getting his excema under control and then we will try milk again. we're also upping his fluids a little to keep everything running smoothly. so he'll have about 16-20 oz. of formula, 8 ounces of juice and 8 ounces of water everyday. If anything like this happens again we will do further testing for allergies but I'm really hoping it won't be necessary.
I was starting to feel bad that Connor would have to have a fruit cake (blah) or something for his birthday if I couldn't get this milk allergy figured out in my head but looks like he'll get a whole yummy cake to himself after all!

Dear Ashley and Connor,
We are so sorry that you had to face all of that scarey stuff without Tyler. It is never a good time to be away from your family. I have found that to be true everytime Jeff had to travel. We can't believe that Connor is already turning "1". He is so handsome a smart and truly a joy! Ashley, you are such a good mommy. We know that Tyler and Connor couldn't be in better or more capable hands than yours. We love you so much! I hear that Connor doesn't like it much when you are away from home. These are Tyler's words. He was telling us how sad Connor gets when you are away. Boy, they can pull at your heart strings. That never goes away, no matter how old they get. The greatest blessings in life come from being a mom, and also being an eternal partner to an righteous good man. We love you!
