Kamree's last day of Play and Learn

Kamree has been in the early intervention program since she turned 2, working with the struggles that come with her Aspergers. We've been lucky enough to work with some great people to help our little girl. One of the best tools in her progress has been the Play and Learn program. It's basically a little preschool Kamree went to 2 days a week for an hour and a half. Unfortunately some poor decisions were made on the state level and Kamree's school lost funding and were given no choice but to discontinue all of their group classes.  I can't say enough how good this program has been for her. Her speech more than doubled in a short time, her tantrums became more age appropriate, I could go on and on.----And believe me I have in letters I've sent in hopes of getting this program back for other kids. When Kamree turns 3 in about 6 weeks she would have to move on to another program anyway, but it's been such a help for our family I want other families to have it too even though there's no possibility of it coming back in time for Kamree to go back.  If you ever hear anything at our city meetings about early intervention services, please support it!

 Miss Karen & Kamree

 Miss Judy & Kamree
Miss Karen worked so hard to try to get kamree to engage with her. Everyday when Kamree walked in she would throw her arms in the air and say "There's my Kamree!" and ask Kamree for a hug. Kamree always declined the hug of course but her last day as we were saying Goodbye Kamree gave Miss Karen a kiss unprompted. Miss Karen started crying and told Kamree how much she loved her and was going to miss her. What a great woman!
Miss Judy was who got Kamree used to the routine when she first started class. Kamree had a very hard time with transitions and also with changes in routine. Once all the toys got put away and it was circle time Kamree started her tantrums and Miss Judy would hold her and help her very patiently. Even though Kamree was literally throwing punches at her. The first day Kamree got through a circle time without a tantrum Miss Judy was so happy and excited telling me all about it.

We love these people and can't thank them enough for all their love and support of Kamree!
