My birthday was this week and I told Tyler that all I wanted was money so that I could go on a shopping trip and buy some clothes that actually fit. So, that's what the plan was today. I went to oldnavy got a few things for me and also picked up Connor's Halloween costume. I got to Target and I was at the back of the store when my cell phone rang. I pushed the button and immediately heard screaming in the background. I couldn't understand anything that Tyler was saying other than "You need to come home NOW and to HURRY." I immediately ran from the back of the store, threw my cart back and ran out to my car. I called Tyler on my way and still heard crying and told him whoever was hurt, to just get them ready and I'd be there to take them to the doctor. I was able to find out that Connor was hurt, but that he was doing better and he wasn't positive if I needed to take him in to the doctor or not. Tyler thought that he may have tripped and hit his head on the metal strip that separates the carpet from the vinyl. I got home and found Connor and Tyler covered in blood. The bleeding had mostly stopped but he had a wound that I could tell really needed to be looked at if not stiched back up. Since the bleeding mostly stopped I cleaned up Connor's bloody little body and got some new clothes on him and off we went. I had Tyler take a picture while I was getting Connor ready since he was pretty calm.
WARNING--THIS IS PRETTY GRAPHIC.

Tyler stayed home with Kami so he could get himself cleaned up and Connor and I headed out to Instacare. I figured it wasn't worth an ER visit since the bleeding stopped. Since we were kind of unsure what exactly happened, I asked Connor if he could tell me what happened he said that he "bonked head to the wall". I kept thinking how that could have cut his head open and thought maybe Tyler's metal strip theory was really what happened. we got to instacare and they put a numbing gel on his head and sent us to watch a movie for 20 minutes before they could do anything to him. I called Tyler during this time and told him what was going on and also that Connor said he "bonked the wall". Tyler did some investigating and found this:

yeah---pretty sure that could cut your head open if you hit into the corner of the wall, hard enough to put a dent in it.
My poor little boy was so brave. He did not cooperate with getting stitched up at all and I don't blame him. It had to be very scary. They wrapped him in a sheet like a burrito to hold him down and then had me lay on top of him to control his legs, they had two other women in there helping, plus the doctor stitching his head. Once they had him cleaned up, I could really tell how bad the damage was. I could see all the way to his skull. It was terrible. He only needed 3-4 stitches I think. I haven't been able to look at it well enough to tell. While he was screaming he started yelling, "go bye bye, the car! I need the keys!" It was so sad. He should be able to get them out Thursday. Hopefully that's a less traumatic experience but I really have no idea. I've never had stitches that had to be removed. He is doing so much better now. He's on motrin and is now taking a nap. He's acting mostly normal and is so excited that I was able to get his Halloween costume today.
This is a poor attempt at a picture of the stitches. He was too wiggly to get a picture, and couldn't understand why I didn't want him looking right at the camera for the picture.

He's happy as can be to be dressed as a Dragon and hugging Mr. Bear.
