I think I've traumatized him.

a few months ago Connor started this phase of getting out of bed, turning the lights on and laying in front of his door and sometimes he would fall asleep in front of the door. Well, then I would go in to check on him and *slam* the door would hit him in the head. So, I started telling Connor that if he didn't stay in bed that I would have to throw Mr. Bear away ( his best buddy in the whole world) It worked but I decided this was kind of mean so I started to tell him that we would just have to take him away and he would have to sleep without him that night/nap. Connor still tells me that if he doesn't stay in bed that mr. bear goes to the trash. I haven't said it in a long time. Well, today Connor was throwing food on the floor and I was feeding Kamree at the time. I went to say "Connor, stop throwing food or i'll put you..." I got distracted and had to think what I was saying and connor immediately belted out "IN THE TRASH!" I was going for TIMEOUT. Kids do not forget anything, do they?
